The second Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival will be celebrated nationwide on Sept 23, with a wide range of activities to be staged, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said on September 4.
Most of the celebrations will be derived from local customs and will take place at the local level, said Yu Kangzhen, Vice Director of the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival Organization Steering Committee and Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Advanced information technology will be widely use in this year's celebration to display the harvest activities and demonstrate the thriving agricultural industry, the beautiful countryside and farmers’ increasing prosperity.
There will be an all-media live broadcast of the harvest activities in 70 counties and villages celebrating the festival with the latest 5G, VR, and drone technologies. The live broadcast will showcase the splendid farming, rich and diverse ethnic customs, and beautiful scenery of rural areas in China.
The festival will also hold other activities such as a singing party, a farmer harvest culture exhibition, the release of a list of the 2019 10 Model Farmers in China, rural revitalization activities, and farmer cell phone application skills training.
